I'm Dr Zoolittle, but you can call me Penny.
It was while I was working as an Animal Welfare Zoo Consultant that I discovered the conventional veterinary approach to animal health was woefully inadequate to meet even the most basic welfare standards. I also realized the diseases these gorgous animals were suffering from were extraordinarily common among domestic pets, yet wild animals of the same species rarely developed these conditions.
Something was wrong with how we were looking after animals in our care! Animals who relied completely on us making the right choices for them. I understood from Behavioural Ecology that wild animals had wonderful strategies for self-medicating when they weren't feeling well or had become injured or malnourished.
So I set out on a quest of discovery to identify the very best solutions in Functional and Regenerative Medicine that can both prevent and reverse disease, and combine these with the most effective health strategies of wild animals to "rewild animal health" and bring safe, kind, effective and natural answers to our beloved pets and zoo/ambassador animals.
Its actually incredibly simple! The same biological principles that prevent disease, also slow the aging process. Meaning; by choosing a lifestyle that protects them, we are also giving pets the gift of a longer, younger, happier life.
